Enrol and manage iOS devices without touching them
Apple’s Device Enrolment Program (DEP) makes it easy for you to deploy and configure iOS and OS X devices.
It automates mobile device management (MDM) enrolment and supervision of devices through the whole set-up process. You don’t even need to touch the phones – they can go direct to the right users, ready to go straight from the box.
In regulated environments such as legal, financial or the public sector, the DEP saves time and helps to ensure compliance.
- Have devices preconfigured to require automatic enrolment into MDM, in line with your organization’s policies.
- Lock devices into MDM for ongoing management.
- Wirelessly enable supervised mode on each device, as part of the setup process.
You can also apply additional restrictions, such as turning off iMessage, AirDrop, or Game Center, as well as web content filtering and single-app mode.
Simple set-up for users
The DEP makes life easier for users as well. You configure devices through the management interface, and users are guided through the activation process with the built-in Setup Assistant. You can simplify things even further by specifying that certain steps in the Setup Assistant be skipped, such as the screens for Apple ID, passcode, or terms of service.
Any Apple Mac or iOS devices purchased on or after March 1, 2011 can be enrolled in DEP. They must use iOS 7 or later, or OS X Mavericks v10.9 or later.
It can all be done without you ever seeing the device. As soon as users activate their devices, you can configure account settings, apps, and access to IT services over the air, with no need for staging services.
With Appurity to manage the process for you, Apple smartphones and tablets become more than locked-down consumer devices. They are workplace-hardened professional tools.
